The new Ford Fusion has several different powertrain configurations from which to choose. The 2.5L four-cylinder Duratec engine is capable of producing an impressive 175 HP while sipping gas at a mere 34 MPG. The larger 3.0L V6 with Flex-fuel technology is capable of producing a strong 240 HP, an increase of almost 10% over the last V6 engine used in these models. Finally, there is the 3.5L V6, which produces an astounding 263 HP and is the featured power plant of the Fusion Sport model. 

The new Ford Fusion has also undergone some physical design changes as well. The new hood and grill design is a bit more aggressive than in years past. The new halogen headlamps are designed to blend in better with the updated grill and hood, and also provide a higher degree of illumination. New fog lights now flank the updated look of the air dam as well.

Varying ambient light is another feature of the new Ford Fusion. These lights allow you to choose one of seven different colors to create the right “mood” for the inside of your vehicle. This ambient lighting appears in both the front and rear foot wells, as well as the console and the cup holders. Ice-blue backlighting for the gauge cluster adds another touch of upscale ambience to the interior.
